Welcome to the very first video officially produced for www.retroasylum.com. "Retro Asylum Remembers: The Vectrex" is a video in which Swainy takes a brief look at the only home based system to ever use a vector based screen. Although the Vectrex was not a commercial success due it's release being so close to the video games crash of the early 80's, today it is one of the most sought after consoles amongst collectors.
First released way back in 1982 originally by GCE and then by Milton Bradley, the Vectrex is the one console that Swainy recomends that you track down and try for yourselves as emulation can not do the system justice due to the fact that your average TV or PC monitor simply can not display vector graphics in the same manner that the Vectrex does.
Swainy, do you have the light pen and 3D imager mate? I picked up a Vectrex a couple months ago with 8 games along with a Odyssey 2 with 10 games and an Atari VCS with 19 games to add to the retro collection. Thanks for sharing mate. :)

@deadlygroove1 Not at the moment mate. I actually only paid £35 for my Vectrex as the sound wasn't working when I bought it so I didn't buy loads of stuff for it at first just incase I couldn't get it working. Thankfully it was only the sound chip that needed replacing. So now the collecting can begin :)
