The classic "Fairport Nine" line-up of Dave Swarbrick, Trevor Lucas, Jerry Donahue, Dave Pegg and Dave Mattacks, reformed for Cropredy 1982. This song is from the Nine album; written by Trevor Lucas. The clip, recorded August 14 '82 is taken from the "Forever Young" VHS of the event, released in 1996. This version also appeared on the "AT2" cassette, and later CD.

a rare chance to see the great Australian singer/writer Trevor Lucas on tape and sad knowing he would die just seven years later of a heart attact at age of 45 and just four years after poor Sandy died as a result of her fall down her friend's stairs. I wonder if Sandy and Trevor's daughter Georgia (born 1978) has seen these music treasures and realizes how much her parents meant to so many for so many years. What a treat to see these live performances unearthed from so far back!

Ah, if only this could replace Over the Rainbow on BBC1 we'd have a better world. Nine was the first Fairport album I heard, driving with friends round Ireland in about 97. We sang this and Big William over and over.
