Truly, the Chicago Symphony Chorus ranks as one of the finest singing institutions of the world! It's great to hear these few moments of choral ecstacy. I had the great thrill of listening to Margaret Hillis conduct the chorus in a rehearsal, in the '70s. It was magic for me, as I reclined onstage above the ballroom where they practiced, the choir came out of some beautiful contemporary harmonies and dropped into an a'cappella rendition of "Precious Lord, take my Hand." I was heaven!
