  • I met Pete this summer at the memorial service of a tuba player Pete played with in the late 60s. What a great guy! Pete's Mom was a favorite of the tuba player and lots of other musicians through the years. She is still alive at 100 years old!

  • @CCEX that's SO amazing that she's still alive! after i did this photo shoot with pete, i gave him a ride up to his mom's place and he talked about how great she is.

  • If i remember correctly Pete Cosey once gave some guitar lessons to a very young Randy Rhoads but it didn't last long because Randy was already soo advanced.

  • I never got to meet Pete while I lived in Chicago, but I was friends with his mom. It was thru her that I learned about Pete. Pete's mom was an amazing woman that lived an amazing life. What a family.

  • I met Pete in 2000 on the Northside of Chicago. At that time, he was living in an apartment with his son right downstairs from my good friend and jazz musician Yves Francois Smierciak. Pete was one of the nicest guys I've ever met. Helluva guitar slinger as we all know!

  • Hey Pete Cosey - if you're reading this i wanna THANK you for giving me more pleasure than any guitar player i've ever heard. You got the BEST sounds!!!

  • I saw Pete with Miles right after Get Up With It came out..at Keystone Korner in san francisco. THe band had moved on from the album material in a beautiful dark port sound that I've never heard on any album...miles was very dramatic when unzipping his horn bag...then holding it up straight checking it out. What a night. One 45 minute set or so...I think they all left the stage and the synths kept bubbling along for another minute all by themselves.

  • Thanks for uploading, this is great. Pete Cosey was fantastic with Miles!

  • Those were some great photos in the 'Signal to Noise' article. Pete is one of my favourite guitarists - am very jealous that you got to meet him!

  • pete cosey is miles davis and muddy waters. yes: he played in both of their bands... thank you.
