  • This is one of the most annoying problems that plauges games. This sort of stuttering can ruin a game for me. I can see it, for sure. There's nothing more annoying than when you show someone the problem, the bog-brain murphys will sit there and say "duuuuuhhh, I didn't see anything". What you should have done was to stand facing the wall and straffed one way for several seconds, it's painfully obvious then

  • @wootlanter I hear you man... I always thought I was one of the few people that actually could spot the minuscule details in a video-game. Sometimes I love it because I can catch all the glorious detail, but then again it plagues me because I also catch the smallest of bugs... like this one. It DOES ruin a game for me... I can't play Portal with this crap.

And you're right, it is definitely more obvious when strafing against a wall. I figured that out after I posted this video. Oh well..

  • Em....I didn't notice any stuttering in your video. Which is strange, beacuse I am suffering from the exact same problem.

Anyway, will let you know if I find a solution (assuming you still need it).

  • @TomPhoenixSC You have to look REAL close. And yes, as far as I know, I am still suffering from the problem. I thought it was on all Source engine games, but I loaded up L4D and it was not reproducing the same symptoms. So I have no idea... maybe bad nVidia drivers.

  • dont play on 1600x900 play on 640x480

  • Sad thing is, most of these Joes don't even know the games they are playing are totally jerky. And that's the problem. Valve have recently given HL2 massive updates with HDR and multi core rendering. Looks very nice. Only problem..yup, you guessed it, totally jerky as buggery! I'm not saying it couldn't be the video card drivers from ATI, but I suspect more likely the game itself, because Lost Coast is still perfect. I'm 1 step away from torrenting HL2, because you can't roll back the updates
