  • @98tharmorcav Thank you for your post. Also the the new Virginia Class submarines are designed as littoral (operates in shallow waters such as the gulf) and deep oceans vessels. In addition, the Virginia Class has a more advanced electromagnetic silencing system to reduce the ship’s magnetic signature, for reduced vulnerability to magnetic mines in littoral regions (shoreline, shallow water). Iran is well aware of the capabilities of the US Navy. They are blowing smoke up the media's ass.

  • @IAmOpenMinded electric motors are ran off of a battery and are still pretty loud not to mention the fact that batterys run outta juice....thats rather inconvenient if ur trying to hide.

  • @IAmOpenMinded you forgot that to snorkel you have to be at periscope depth...yeah how effective is a submarine that must remain at periscope depth?

  • @IAmOpenMinded do YOU know anything about nuclear powered submarines? Do you realize that water heating up makes very little noise? Do you realize that most of the noise from submarines comes from the cavitation that happens when the engine spins the screw and eventually the propeller? Do you realize that the new US Navy submarines are the quietest int he world? oh and they ARE nuclear powered....just sayin bro. sounds like your a smarty guy full of shit

  • @IAmOpenMinded The Virgina Class Submarine has a Sonar signature Lower then that of a kilo class at dock side. The Virgina Class is also Nuclear powered so its range is only limited to its food supplies, It also travels faster and far quieter then any diesel electric. Its armed with 38 x Mk-48 torpedoes & (BGM-109 Tomahawk cruise missiles. You fully believe in Iranian propaganda to the point where you have become delusional. you are truly far from Open Minded i am done talking to you. good day.

  • @IAmOpenMinded Project aggressive power? The United States isn't the one Threatening to Destroy other nations once is has the means to do so. Iran is a super Aggressive Islamic rogue state with a puppet for a leader, controlled by the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Luckily for the rest of the world Iran's Economy and Infrastructure can't Produce Long range Bombers or Carriers. However they are in pursuit of Nuclear Ambitions and have had a disappointing missile program for decades.

  • @98tharmorcav Well I am not one of those who is stating whether Iran build's "better" subs than anyone, but they do make what is right for their military, and defensive needs. They don't need long range bombers, air craft carriers, ICBMs, or Virginia class subs. Only countries that are poised to project aggressive power across the globe develope those. You make unsubstanciated statements based on misinformation, and misdirected "patriotism" so consider this discussion closed. Have a nice day!

  • @IAmOpenMinded I am not debating that Iran has No right to construct more submarines or advance its Navy. What I am Debating is that people on this page are insinuating that Iran is producing or purchasing better quality submarines then that of the United States, this is simply incorrect. Google the SSN774 Virginia-class Fast Attack Submarine. This Sub is far quieter, Twice as fast submerged or on surface and has a far superior armament then anything in the Iranian Navy.

  • @IAmOpenMinded The 2007 NATO Naval incident involved a (Type-039 "Song") NOT a Kilo class. It was considered a wake up call to the US Navy who has not focused on sub warfare and detection since the end of the cold war (1980). Its coming up on half a decade since that embarrassing event. And since then many countermeasure and technologies have been put in development and in place to stop incidents like that one from happening again in the future.

  • @98tharmorcav (Cont) Even those old U boats you mentioned could sail clear across the Atlantic, and back home to Germany. And by the way, the Iranian Navy operates their Kilos in the Indian Ocean, and the Red Sea. And they have 6 of them, not 3 as frequently reported by government controlled western media. For the shallow waters of the Persian Gulf, they designed the Ghadir, and is well suited for that body of water. Advanced sonar as you call it never detered anyone from building new subs.
