Wrong. You are talking about a different signal. The "wow" signal was a 72 second transmission that has never been received again. No one knows the origins of the signal. Most satellites are forbidden to transmit at the frequency at which the signal was detected. It could be a military satellite tho, who knows.

I understand that, but I am simply applying Occam's razor to the problem. What is more likely, that a man made object transmitted a signal or a highly intelligent life form transmitted from a galaxy far far away? Again, I want this to be true. I want to know whether there are other life form in the universe, but I am withholding judgement till further evidence.

Scientists ruled out earthbound sources as highly unlikely.

Colbert is funny without a laugh-track (real or not), which doesn't surprise me at all.

Yes, it was indeed in the direction of Sagittarius, but we have many man made objects between the dish and Sagittarius. I would like some more evidence, but I want it to be true tho.

The scientists reported that the signal's point of origin was in the constellation Sagittarius. They seemed quite certain it wasn't a localized signal.
