Hey guys, I love your stuff, and have wanted to know for soooo long who wrote the Wellington City Spoil yourself music and it's you guys!!! I love that piece...where could I find it? do you have it on any albums?

Put simply, Music software doesn't do anything unless you inter-react with it...if we where to walk off stage at any point during this performance you would be listening to silence as we control what happens. there would be no keyboard parts or certain samples or transitions to other sections. Both Rhian & I come from Musical backgrounds, I have been composing music on the Piano since a young, and Rhian was a guitarist before electronica. We both just use technology to express musical emotion.

@ boborulz, Thanks for taking the time to explain to Macdonder the finer points of Me and Rhain's Live performance...Frankly, I am really confused is to why Macdonder has labeled us as DJ's. We have no CDJ's on stage, I am playing a keyboards, Rhian even plays guitar later on, We are running ableton live and controlling all 30 sequences within the song in real time...I thought the video got that across...both Rhian and i have evolved even further than that since 4 years ago...

THanks boborulz for taking the time to point out these things in a non-beligerent or insulting way.
I take on board what you say, and will try to keep an open mind on the subject.

To address what I said earlier re mediocre talent, the simple truth of the fact is, and this had always been the case, if your music's shit people aren't going to like it regardless of the technology involved. The boys above couldnt of packed out the venue if people didnt respect their music. The dark and dingy club is where you'll find the majority of the "off their face" patrons. The lights, videos and sounds is the whole experience provided by the artists (with help of course) in question.

Fair enough. I have to admit that yes, said technology does enable mediocre talent to perform at a level that can impress a naive public. But this isn't the point, the purpose of this new technology is to get this wonderful music out of the studio and into an arena in which a crowd can truely interact with it. It transcends the DJ culture (which i admit has got old fast) and enables one a live experience of electronic music which has spent too many years confined on CD.
Phobos is such a beautiful piece of work.
