Three stanzas played. I decided to throw in the last part of the descant at the last minute, and yes, I know I screwed it up!

Location: Otey Memorial Parish, Sewanee, TN on a 2-manual 9-rank Moller unit organ reworked by Milnar Organ Co.

  • Wow! I can't believe this is a 9-rank organ! It sounds much fuller and brighter! Very nice job!

  • Beautiful music,beautiful building.

  • Wow - I was listening and around 1:33 I nearly fell outta my chair! 9 ranks and it honks like a foghorn. that's amazing

  • Very good, its a very bright for a nine rank instrument.

  • I've actually never looked, so I can't say for sure. I have a suspicion that they're half-length resonators, but could be wrong. They could also be mitered at the base (or anywhere else) and folded over on itself, sort of like a pretzel. I've seen that done frequently with 16' and 32' reeds.

  • The Bourdon is a stopped flute, so low C is an 8' pipe which speaks at 16' pitch. Can flues be mitered? I've seen 16' principals "bent" to fit in a chamber, but I can't recall if that is called mitering or not. The 16' trumpet is either mitered or has half-length resonators - not sure which.
