  • Health Care is not a right. Never has been, never should be. Free health Care allows the patient to have no incentive for caring for their body, ie. exercise, nutrition, and reducing stress. The majority of those living off from my tax dollars seem to take much for granted as it cost them nothing. This Government has failed to run anything properly and this has much more to do with power than with reform. Do you really want the Government to have a say in every matter that effects your health.

  • why are you against healthcare? I don't think that's a smart opinion maybe you should change it.

  • you people are literally fucking children. jesus fuck.

  • @edifyguy

US has the healthcare system of a 3rd world country and spends more then any other 1st world nation on it.

  • Whimsical: If you think that this system is so horrible, please go somewhere you like better. Canada is close, and so is Cuba. France is a nice place, too, and yes I have been there, but I warn you: the cost of living is very high. Sure, they may have socialized everything, but they also have very high taxes on everything. $10 a gallon for fuel? Yes, they've had that. It's taxes.

If that's the kind of system you want to live under, go ahead.....but please, go to it, don't bring it to you.

  • WhimsicalQuandary: I don't know what you're basing those numbers on, but I suspect that you're referring to mortality rates or life expectancies. Those are not an accurate measure of "healthcare," as there are environmental, dietary, and genetic factors at work as well.

If government-run healthcare is so wonderful, why did Daniel Williams, the Canadian Premier, come to the US to get his heart surgery? Simple.....in Canada, yes it's free, but the waiting list is so long you can die waiting.

  • sheepcidus: Republicans aren't against healthcare. Republicans are against GOVERNMENT-RUN healthcare. There's a world of difference. Republicans believe, with good historical reasons, that when healthcare is run by the government, it becomes less efficient, less effective, and lower quality. Republicans (and Libertarians like myself) recognize that for all the shortfalls of the free market, government always does a worse job still.

  • That's so absurd that I shouldn't even address it, but since you're willing to spread nonsense like that around, someone has to address it.

I don't know who may or may not have said that, but that is certainly not a mainstream Republican position. Republicans just don't believe that the Government can do a better job running healthcare than private companies have been. Social Security is going broke, Medicare is going broke, so let's give them all the rest of healthcare so it goes broke too!

  • @sheepcidus

    They hate poor people.

Thats the only reason, I've talked to people that have said "It's social darwinism. If we let people who are to lazy to work be healed then no one will work so they deserve to die"

    Yes thats an actual quote.
