Fold down shelf/loop for my Dad's S-gauge American Flyer model train so that we can have a train around the tree in our tiny little cottage. This is the prototype, made of birch veneered cheap plywood, but it was enough work that I'll probably put edge-banding on it and put a dark stain on it to cover al lthe glue squeeze-out. The plan for the final version is to have it lattice-like so that smaller/younger visitors to the house can look up and see the train overhead.

Amazingly, the structure can cantilever in place without the wires. And also to be done is to replace that little L-bracket with hooks at the apropriate height so that I can just loop it and not have to tie it off.
