QNAP TS-509 Pro Turbo NAS Filecopy speed from PC to NAS.
Upgrades done to NAS: 4 GB RAM + Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E7400 @ 2.80 GHz. Filesize = 7.48 GB. NAS has 5 x 1 TB 7200rpm disks in RAID5 on Ext4 filesystem.

Filecopy done with Total Commander on a Win7 x64 client to a Samba share (SMB) on the NAS on Gigabit ethernet.

  • what's yours environmental ??? what switch,hard drives,Raid 5?,0?,1? what's computer hard drives setting?? raid 5 or 0?? and what network have u selected in qnap setting is it port aggregation or broadcast?? any others changes?? ram,processor??

  • Click on 'more info' on the right to see the specs of the setup. In addition to that: 802.3ad LACP is used to connect the NAS to a HP ProCurve 1800 switch. Fully Cat6 wired.

  • oh rite..sorry i didn't see that... actually i have got same setting upgraded TS 509 processor + Ram 4gb expect that i've got 5x 1.5 TB WD green same switch HP pro curve all Cat 6 in EXT 3 ,,but my speed go at beginning 120mb/sec and then it's dropping down to the 30mb/sec... is this because of hard drives,or is it setting of my switch and nas??? would u be able to please somehow help me with setting of the switch??
