Collier Swecker video blogs about how some home Sellers are coming up with some crazy excuses about why their home is unavailable to show to prospective home buyers. Most real estate agents schedule showings with home owners at least 24 hours in advance, but admittedly some showings have to be scheduled at the last minute because an agent and their client have stumbled upon a home while out seeing other homes. I have seen Sellers decline showings under both scenarios and some of their excuses make absolutely no sense. I share some of these excuses on the video blog, but lets just say that the excuses make Sellers look like they are not wanting to actually sell their home. There is an old saying that says, If your home is on the market, you dont own your home anymore. If you have your home on the market make sure you do every thing in your power to make every showing happen. I really believe that medical illness is about the only reason a seller should refuse a showing if they are actually wanting to sell their home. Just do not blame your Birmingham AL Realtor if you keep denying showings to people that want to buy your home.
