We know what the US has done in the past and what it does and why it does it and have no illussions that they do it out of respect for human rights  and democracy but to serve their own interests ! In the past they supported dictatorships like in CHILE and Greece, only this is out of ...fashion now ! The US helped overthow the Iranian government twice in 1953 and 1979 and helped orchestrate violent wars in Iran that killed many innocent women and children. The US wants control over oil, to maintain power.
