  • @pilgrim87643 I don't see how it's possible to get a better brew than a French Press....and theres nothing easier to clean than a French Press. Not knocking it as I plan on buying a vacuum pot....but French Press is THE most simple and effective way of brewing coffee. it's not as spectacular to watch while brewing but it makes a good solid and satisfying cup of coffee that doesn't go flat and contains all the oils of the coffe bean.

  • You will get neither a good brewing up top nor a good slow draw into the lower pot unless you have the lid on the top funnel. I've also found a 3" percolator filter makes an excellent secondary filter.

  • way better than a french press and easier to clean by a long shot better coffee flavor than a drip machine more oils in coffee if you buy green and roast your own best ever

  • I found that Bodum didn't look good. In addition, I thought the coffee it brewed didn't taste good at all. The water is too hot and trumbling too violent in the upper bulb and messed up the coffee...

Even a Mocha pot or a French press is much better

  • It's a bit of a pain to clean because you have just the small opening of the carafe into which you need to fit a long handled brush of some kind. you also have to scoop the used grounds out of the upper portion, which is a bit messy to do. I've decided I prefer a thermal carafe-type coffee maker, which doesn't apply constant heat to the pot, so it maintains its fresh taste. It makes coffee as strong as I prefer, and is easier to clean.

  • Hi! Is it easy to clean? I mean especially the heat plate on the ground.

  • I bought one of these last year. It's definitely fun to watch... Too bad it brews coffee that tastes like dishwater. It uses an awful lot of grounds to even produce a drinkable cup, too, in my opinion.

  • How much was it? The cheapest I found so far was 85 $.

  • Hi! At the end, the coffee flows down.

In this version of the Santos, there´s a heat plate, I guess. Isn´t it a problem for the taste? I mean, what some people dislike about normal coffee machines is actually the heat plate which makes the coffee tasting burned after a while.

  • heat creates the vacum no heat vacum dissapers easy concepte i have both french press and the Santos I prefer the Santos
