In 1976, Mary Gillispie and her husband Ron began receiving anonymous letters that told a story of an affair Mary was having with the superintendent of schools. Eventually many people in the town began receiving the letters which became more ominous and threatening. Eventually Ron Gillispie ends up dead and Ron's brother-in-law is imprisoned for the attempted murder of Mary. Was this man guilty or was he railroaded?

  • Im calling that Mary set up the whole thing to get her husband killed so that the affair could happen without having her husband in the way. Im just trying to figure out why the hell the handwriting test is a huge setup

  • Did they check the envelopes for DNA?? They better do that NOW!

This case is full of screw-ups. Most people would be released from jail if the letters keep continuing while they are in there and you are sure they aren't the author. It is so unfair. Ohio owes that innocent man a HUGE debt and apology. They fucked up!

  • @acenace24 No, why would Mary send letters to herself in that case?

  • @lindapittsburgh I don't think silly little girls would so far as to steal a gun and kill someone.

  • What a tragic miscarriage of justice! Why on earth didn't the investigators look into the yellow truck owner for a start. One poor man spent 10 years of his life in anguish for someone else's misdeeds.

  • WAIT A SEC!! They said that the victims sent letters BACK to the guy. How did they know where to send the letters to because there was no return address on the letters??

  • getting out of Circleville would be job one. hey I wonder if the real writer reads the comments, if so that's creepy.

  • Wait a minute? She started an affair *after* the letters? What, did it give her a good idea and turn her on so much so figured, "Well, if I'm going to be accused of having an affair, I might as well?" This whole town sounds morally-challenged.

  • Motive:

Jealous wife or girlfriend of Superintendent?

    Jealous admirer of Bus Driver?

    Kids on the BUS?

Yes my guess is that a group of GIRLS got together and did this.

    Definately a childish teen prank.

  • not mentioned in this vid was that the witer did write once more to unsolved mysteries!

  • @eliangonzales haha!

  • @cooltim11 Or from Robert Stack, just so he could write his own show and refer to them as "el sickos."
