JGA would like to congratulate its co-director James McGranaghan on two fantastic results at the English Championships and London Open on the 6th and 13th of March 2010.
The English Championships was held at the New College-Leicester. With it being his first competition in over 4 years James ended up a respectable 20th position out of nearly 80 competitors.
It was a shaky competition for James with quite a few errors made over the 6 events. On top of this, the English Championships was the first of two trials for the up and coming Commonwealth Games in Deli-India. So taking all of this into account 20th was a fantastic result and a good competition to blow out the cobwebs.
The following weekend saw the second trial-The London Open held in Dagenham.
The competition was split into two rounds and after the first James was placed 3rd with a score of 80.05. The criteria was that James had to make the top 12 English Gymnasts to be seriously considered for the team. The outcome was 10th position. On top of this James was awarded the Westminster Shield for being the highest scoring London Gymnast-on this the 100th Anniversary of this competition.
This was an amazing result for James and JGA who now have the best male Gymnast in the whole of London as well as being one of, if not the biggest recreational facility in the region.
JGA keep going from strength to strength, and now with James back into a full-time training schedule JGA can become a force to be reckoned with nationwide.
Keep checking back for updates on the selection for Team England to see if James has made the team. There is definitely an outside chance so please keep all of you fingers crossed.
