I used to tow banners in Michigan a few years ago. Pay was good! $50/hr and $10 to build a banner. On football weekends I would log about 7 hrs. @ G's at pickup about 2 (a little less) but it looks more dramatic. @ Cowling and doors - cooling is the answer. Banner towing is slow flight hell for the airplane AND pilot. Flying at 60MPH with high power heats things up fast. Great video...

Yeah I'm going to need hours, but I live in the midwest so its all crop dusting, not banner towing. I might end up doing that, if I can actually get a job
How much does that typically pay? Enough to start paying off the wonderful loans to even reach the rating to be able to do that and still be able to eat dinner?

Banner towing is a time builder and really teaches you how to fly an airplane (tailwheel). Its fun and hard work too. In 2002, I logged 600 hours from Memorial Day to Labor Day and just made $6,000. It's not about pay, it is about building flying experience and having a life adventure.

I really dont know, we didnt have G meters in the plane. You needed to pull hard to climb to get the banner off the ground and then push over before you stall. It is a tricky game and takes lots of practice to get right.
