Week 5 Tutorial.
1-I produced the initial image of the video wall in Photoshop by creating 12 equal boxes in 3 rows.
(Bearing in mind that this was the layout of where my images and videos would go in after effects)
2-I made sure that every box was in a separate layer. Then I saved this and dragged it onto the timeline in After effects.3- I then added my 4 images on top of layers 1, 4, 9 and 12so that this same image was in every corner of the wall. The image I used was my production logo.
4-Then I added 8 video clips from my showreel and placed them on top of layers 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, and 11.
5-While every time adjusting the size and shape to make them fit into the boxes.
6-I would then Track matte to Alpha so that they would fit properly over the boxes.
7-Created a new composition and dragged my video wall into it.
8-I then created a new solid and used the lens flare effect to spotlight the colour in the background, I chose red and black.
9-To make the wall more effective and interesting I then key framed along the Y and X axis so that my images and videos would appear scattered. Also so they would keep moving during the composition.
10-Added a variety of music from my production showreel to add more to the overall piece.
Voila!
10-
