  • Be of good cheer! This is most certainly not an easy song to sing. There are a lot of nuances, the tessitura stretches you up to a G, and the emotions required are great. You're young; you have a lot of time to improve your vocals as well as learn to battle nerves. But if I may offer a suggestion. Try to really support more. Clenched teeth is one indication you're tense and not supporting enough. "Sing" the breath, and allow the tone to "ride" the breath, controlled by diaphgragm. Best Wishes!

  • @tristanhnl Thank you for your detailed comment. My voice has grown and matured a lot since this performance. I have not been doing many Broadway-type performances though, because I am currently at college. My maturing voice and understanding of vocal technique have helped me to achieve a greater level of relaxation while I sing. Also, my range is much larger and more well-developed now. My new challenge is "This is the Moment" in the style of Anthony Warlow.

  • I don't like his version...

  • @ncisgigfan No worries. I can't impress everyone. =)

  • It's weird how I've got all likes for this video, but only negative or neutral comments. =/

  • you sound nervouse?

  • @goldenguy12345 Well, it was the Grand Award Finals for the Mid South Fair Youth Talent Contest, aka, the largest amature talent contest in the world. So, yes I was nervous. You are, however, the first person to tell me that it showed. Sorry, I'll try to do better next time.

  • I did not see the sadness of the song when you performed! You sounded very nice but all that was missing was the emotion! You have to step into the characters shoes, that's why you need to be sad because it was the characters fault that all his friends died! The character is thinking why him and not the others, he thinks he should have died! But your singing was good. I know I am probably late with the comment, but I just wanted to let you know.

  • @WhiteLionKing10 No no dont think of it as a bad thing! If that was me i would be petrified, you did well :)

  • @xxgenisxx I can see where you might think I was smiling. It was really more of a teeth clenched thing than a smiling thing. I did smile when I talked about "a world reborn," but it makes since there. I assure you, I DID spend countless hours doing song interpretation on this. At 1:35 you can really see what I mean about "teeth clenched." From 2:10 to the end, I really didn't smile at all. Thank you for your constructive comment, I intend to keep getting better. So don't look away. =)
