Vanilla was the start of something great.

Burning Crusade was the pinicle of the adventure and the best content for PVE by far. PvP arena was also literally invented in BC.

WOTLK made pve rotations better and smoothed out a lot of PVP kinks. It also gave us Ulduar.

Cataclysm removed the entirety of the adventure and turned wow into a meaningless number grind where you never need to leave stormwing/orgrimmar.

TBC is undeniably the best expansion this far. Many great this has come since then, but the expansion in it's entirety was AMAZING. So much to do, the zones were cool and unique, World PVP still existed and the raids.. Wow.. The FUCKING RAIDS!!!

@CatalystGamingUK Oh don't forget.WoTLK brought us revamps.So we didn't have to be entertained my Blizzards epic story anymore we could just do a watered doun version of the same content.And Cataclysm brought us even more of those!Yay!...Dies a little bit inside.

Except Illidan still chose to melee with an expert swordsman instead of using his magic. Dont forget that the Lich King gave the last shreds of his power to Arthas before the battle and even a depowered Arthas killed and raised Sapphiron effortlessly. He was the strongerst death knight and an expert swordsman even without further empowerment too.

Arthas probably won more from luck. Remember the Wotlk quest The Prince and the Hunter? Illidan had a serious advantage over Arthas, yet ultimately lost. Arthas was probably still much weaker than Illidan prior to transforming into the Lich King. Illidan would had completely annihilated Arthas if he had transformed into demon form. He wiped out Tichondrius, most powerful of all Dreadlords. Arthas was nothing compared to Tichondrius

I agree with Catalyst, Cataclysm did things to WoW that turned it into a mindless game. I enjoyed the story when I went through the places in Cataclysm for quests, but overall, they don't emphasize the story like they used to =l Still a fun game, which is why I'm gonna try to get the Warcraft series and some books hopefully. I really mostly play for the GAME, not the play.

Um, no. He was always just after personal power. He didnt try to kill the Lich King because he wanted to save anyone, but because Kil`jaeden offered him power, he was serving the Legion.
