I just a rendition of this song on The Simpsons - rushed to the computer and thank heavens for UTube - haven't heard his song in over 30 years. Just beautiful. Hope it won all the awards, I remember it was No.1. What happened to the writer and the band?

They were big influences of Todd Rundgren's whose vocal arrangements often would mimic the style of voicings The Association used. Of course, Todd has a style all his own but his influences are many and obvious.

I don't know if any of you have ever tried to actually play this song, but it's a REALLY hard song to pull off live, especially when they have to do all the playing and singing live at the same time. Sure, there are a few harsh blends in the harmonies, but boy... this performance is impressive.

I saw them perform here in Puerto Rico back in the 90's at Shannan's Pub, great live performance all the way!

A hard song.. to perform live.. not bad.. but the studio version has the smooth sweetness that makes the song so great.
Anyone happen to know this particular performance??
