This is a first test of my Flip Mino video camera - deliberately challenging with lots of movement, light & shadow it acquitted itself pretty well for a pocket camera (hand held). I needed to hunt around for the right codecs to get Windows MovieMaker to edit the video. Riding was on both sides of the Thames - ending in Chelsea Harbour.

  • do you think the sound is good enough to record a loud concert with somewhat decent quality?

  • This is not the HD Flip Mino - but the original Flip Mino - and yes it will easily record a loud concert - as long as there is not too much distracting noise right in front of you. I now use a Kodak Zi8 (HD) which has a decent enough Mic but also has a Mic In connection - the Kodak is a brilliant camera (but colours are better outside) and would be ideal for adding a directional mic to...

  • That's it, I'm buying me-self a Mino...

  • You gotta do it - and then share your films :-)

  • That was simply amazing

The UK has some amazing views.

Thanks alot for the clip it has amazing quality.

It obviously has no problems with alot of movement and such right?

Thanks again for the clip, good recording and amazing editing.

  • Cheers mate - glad you enjoyed the show :-) I cannot believe how good the little Mino is - the picture and sound are better than you would expect from such a tiny camera.

I hope at dixons they get the black version next week so i can get it.

    Thanks again =]

  • Bought and payed... :) Now i just gotta wait for Merry Old England to send it across the river to Merry Old Denmark... Hopefully it shouldn't take too long... My patience reading when it comes to receiving new gadgets is like below zero... :)

  • Jay - Mino comes with viewing and editing software BUT you can't do it in-camera. When you connect Mino to a PC it offers to install this software. I already have vid editors so use those.

Not sure if a cyber cafe allows you to install s/w. If so fine. You can trim clips, and join them with fades between scenes - and add music.

If you can't do this you will have to upload video clips - but that will still be a lot better than nothing!

PS Sound quality is good on the Mino - even outside.

  • Was this edited with the Mino's own editing software, or something else? I'm looking to get one as I'll be backpacking across the globe and I wanted something small to video blog with, but I can't find much information on the actual software that it comes with, which will be important for me since I won't be able to use anything other from simple cyber cafes.

What do you think of it?
