"Don't Let Them Bring You Down" Music Video

This is a video of me recording my song "Don't Let Them Bring You Down".

This song is about when people are mean or rude to me (or you) not to let them drive the smile from your face or happiness from your mind. In particular when people beam terrible crap into our minds, don't let them make you sad or angry if possible, although a certain amount of anger at injustice and people violating your rights is probably healthy.

See in the beginning how the criminals in the neuron writing net make my nose itch and I give the usual left 1 finger liar nose pointing up at them for the audience to see. Then they allow me the opportunity to sing, waiting until the guitar solo to zap the shit out of my nose to which I give them the ol' right hand three finger sign language "M" itch for "murder is wrong" which they may someday learn, if such people actually exist, or maybe it's my imagination.

The end are supposed to be photons flying by and interacting gravitationally, and also symbolic of living in and moving through a globular cluster.

Notice the beginning of my robot next to the cello? Hopefully someday it will be cleaning my dishes and we can save that mindless work for the machines to focus on physical, intellectual and science pleasures.

Enjoy!
Ted

  • @drumtravelfun - thanks for the comment.

"..." is Morse code for "S"

  • ...buddy i think neil young kinda beat u to that name....but i dont mind the song...its not bad....but i prefer neils verson

  • Thanks I realized after I recorded the song that Neil Young's song is similar - but they are not exact. Even when there are exact lyrical matches - many times the message or connotation is slightly different. Of course, the memories and images thought of while creating a song give it a unique vision too.

  • nice one.

  • thanks bsj, that Sean Penn video is interesting. Penn is an interesting person for doing the stuff he does - most people are too afraid to say what they think or to say anything controversial. See my top ten goals on my youtube web page to see my main goals, which include stopping violence, freeing the nonviolent, decrim drugs and prost, full free info, full democracy, telling about see, hear, send thought, teaching history of science, consent-only psychology, against antipleasurism, etc.

  • Thanks superc, I had a lot of fun making and recording this song. I still enjoy listening to it from time to time. It's interesting Neil Young wrote a song with a similar title. One day I walked by a girl and her smile turned into a frown and this song was born in my mind. I had thought about the idea of people turning smiles into frowns and it culminated into this song.

  • awesome, man

  • THanks Dave, I hope everything is going well with your band. This was the first time I have really played drums for a song, it just takes some courage to try and fail. I tuned the drums to fifth tuning which makes them sound lower. I'm having fun with learning violin, cello - villins cost $100 now, its amazing.

  • Ted, great song!
