    Taylor dropped Waddle. It should have been the other way around - from a great height. A wonderful footballer and to think around this time you had Gascoigne, Beardsley and Barnes. Who said the English can't produce skillful, intelligent, flair players. Others have already said it on here but Beckham, Lampard and Gerrard aren't fit to wipe there arses after having a big shit.

    I think you have a slight case of rose-tinted glasses, my friend. Whilst there's no questioning Waddle's natural ability (or Barnes' as you mention it) the fact is that BOTH men were ordinary at international level, despite their brilliance with their clubs. Barnes had nearly 80 caps and was anonymous in maybe 65 of those games and Waddle had 60, I think, and was anonymous in probably 45 of them. Both players got lambasted by the press after most England matches.
