Lincoln was a Abolitionist and the Republican Party was created by Abolitionist who were not welcomed in the Democrat Party. The Lincoln-Douglas election would determine if territories in the West would be free states or slave states. Southern Expansionist also wanted to invade the Carribean to create a plantation empire.

When Lincoln won the election in Nov 1860 and Southern states immediatly began the process of secession. By the time Lincoln gave his inaugeral address in Jan 1861 the Union was literally falling apart and Lincoln was trying to take slavery off the table to avoid war and save the Union. Ron Paul faults Lincoln for trying to avoid the war that RP himself would not have fought. Lincoln did try to handle the slavery issue another way other than war just as RP himself had suggested in this video but the South was not going to have it any other way.

The South DID secede from the Union and created the Confederacy, a separate nation from the United States. Lincoln did not stop the South from seceding. After the South seceded the Confedeacy then planned to enter Western states into the Confederacy as slave states instead of free states in the US. Later the South fired on Ft Sumter and tried to topple Washington 2 times before Lincoln was able to find a capable general to invade the South.

In WWII there was a American Nazi Bund here in the US that received money and support from Hitler. But these guys were such jackass's (even back then) the European Nazi's themselves were embarrassed by them and were afraid to be seen with them in public. The only people that associated with them were disgruntled Southern Confederate sympathizers still angry about the Civil War. That is how the Neo Nazi's and the KKK came together and why Ron Paul is a crusading for the states rights issue. The Constitution does not give states the right to form a fascist state and oppress American citizens.

  • Where in the Constitution does it say the Federal government gets to buy slaves. Alot of these Ron Paul guys think the Lousianna purchase was illegal and needs to be reversed but they have no problem with the govermment buying American slaves.

The real hole in Ron Paul's argument is that the South, not the North, started the Civil War. If the Union wanted a war so bad, then why was it the the Confederates started the war and not the Union?
