Pandit Channulal Mishra - A life devoted to Music

Pandit Chhannulal Mishra (Hindi: पंडित छन्नूलाल मिश्रा) (born 3 August 1936) is a Hindustani classical singer from Banaras, a noted expotent of the Kirana gharana (school) of the Hindustani classical music and especially the Khayal and the 'Purab Ang' - Thumri.

At the beginning he is singing a shloka about origin of the Shiva Sutras (or Maheshwara Sutras) of Sanskrit Vyaakaran, followed by the Shiva Sutras themselves. On the Shiva Sutras which the whole Vedic and Sanskrit grammar is based, and hence in turn, everything from Dharmashaastra, Yoga, Sangeeta, Ayurveda, Darshana, and all.

That was sheer bliss. I never heard anybody blend Sanskrit Vyaakaran and Sangeet Shastra before. What a treat. Thanks for uploading.
