Thought I'd write a somewhat humorous song on an unfunny topic. Luckily, I have my position as a paper-towel spokesman to fall back on.

overcast fall day
bare feet on cold concrete
need to start moving away
grab the paper off the street

the headlines, they all read
times are getting tough
it's a downward correction
seldom steady growth, it's either boom or bust

things have gotten stagnant from all the hot air
and everybody's asking just how it all got there
now we're left to recover from a case of, burst bubble blues

so I too join the ranks
an unemployment stat
but I've no mouths to feed
and I really don't care for any plans

free market vulturists (venturists) say regulation's communist
but don't mind bailouts from so-called socialists
as we're stuck in the midst of these, financial meltdown blues

I'm not claiming knowledge
but I've read history
know wealth must be created
not from leveraged borrowed speculation

many folks on Wall Street
don't want transparency
'cept for the market hand
with shrouded instruments to stab you in the back

things have gotten stagnant from all the hot air
and everybody's asking just how it all got there
now we're left to recover from a case of, burst bubble blues

  • gotta keep listening to this one man. I don't worry much, economy gets better or worse I don't care about that but I just wish I could wrap my head around it all, figure out what the hell happened ? do you think anyone understands it ?

  • Thanks, Danny. So glad to have something worth a replay! It's pretty complicated. From what I've read, it seems to have stemmed from bad policies, loose regulations, and investors not doing their homework. But things will keep moving. Just glad I'm more-or-less an indirect victim!

  • excellent song really great lyrics and picking, havent been to your channel in a while glad i stoped by to find a new one. take care

  • Thank you, Mr. Bluebus! So happy you liked it.

  • This is solid dude. You should really make a demo to send to some record companies, your stuff needs to be in more ears.

  • Thanks, Justin! Don't think I could handle making a record...I crack under pressure. haha.

  • Great song, Josef! 5+Star's

I don't want to be a Prophet of Doom, but, things are going to get worse...

Our economy has been savaged, and the 'working class' decimated. This wasn't an accident. The 'burst bubble,' was more like 'Hocus Pocus!' Bunch a crooks!...

Very best of wishes, my friend!
