Love this song. Prefer Elvis' version the best though. If you've never heard it by Elvis you should. His phrasing was superior to anyone. TCB!

Absoultely beautiful! Even Al Martino can't beat this! I'be been in love with Ames and this song since it was released when I was a teenager. He's not a bad actor too. He played "Mingo" in the Danial Boone TV series along with Fess Parker. BTW..."My Cup Runneth Over" by Ames is also just as stirring as this song!

@diagreen He lives on his ranch in Utah. I was psyched finding the pristine 1967 album after JUST finding his music on youtube. 'Just for fun' I searced the words: Ed Ames concert calendar. Up popped the McCallum Theater's promo for his appearance there coming up in 11 days, just 4 hours from my home in PHX. Shocked the HECK out of me! God is good !!!! Krupa Tribute Band is musicians who played with Krupa, Goodman & Harry James - a group of ancient gentlemen with all their chops STILL. Heroes!

@chkjns REALLY???still performing at 83???i didnt even check other vids to see.i just assumed he retired by now.with KRUPA TO?Watching his performaces from 2007 its kind of strange.its like his voice hasn't aged at all.i new he sang the impossible dream but i didn't no he sang mary in the morning.i get out to palm desert sometimes.im gonna try and see him myself.thanx for the info.i love utube man.PIECE.
