El34's or 6550's. Played them both for years. Depends on what you want from your amp. My personal taste is for the EL34, Cream, Crunch and Balls. Pure classic rock tone. Sound the best in pre master volume era amps. 6550's are a bit harder sounding in my opinion and have more headroom, hence one of the reasons they work well in MV amps. I'm surprised to see a set of Groove Tubes in Slash's classic amp. I would think a guy with his size wallet would go for a descent set of NOS.

@ricgresko some might agree; pretty much everyone has one. they're just too predictable. even i own an 800, but i dont use it as much as i do with other amps
