Review - The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

As a celebration for 650 subscribers, here's my often-requested review of The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind.

ESRB Rating: Teen (13+) - Blood, Violence

Footage is of the PC version with all settings maxed at 1024x768 resolution. Watch in high quality (480p) for best visuals.

To clarify my review scores (they're "rough" scores, meaning it's not supposed to be some sort of percentage or anything):
1 or lower = Terrible. Avoid at all costs.
1.5 = Has a few redeeming qualities, but still sucks and should be avoided.
2 = Mediocre (Sub-par). You'll probably want to avoid this one.
2.5 = Underwhelming, but playable.
3 = Average. Worth playing, but probably not at full price.
3.5 = Good, but has issues.
4 = Excellent, but has a few problems that could probably be fixed through patching.
4.5 = Exceptional. Better than 4 but still has a few problems that could be ironed out.
5 = Outstanding. Stuff in this category is pretty much "must own."

I had this on Xbox (playing on 360) and the load times made it unplayable(10-15 minutes, yes I timed it)! Recently got it on PC playing on my Acer Aspire laptop and found a new love for it XD. Moral of the story, If you can get the PC version DO IT!

@DWTerminator Will Morrowind run faster on an Xbox 360 with a 200 GB hard drive? I have Morrowind for PC and absolutely love it, but my PC isnt the best, so I constantly experience bugs and the occasional freeze and/or crash. Please respond.

Not really. It'll run about the same, probably. And everyone experiences crashes in Morrowind... It's just Bethesda's lack of QA and programming skills.

Do note that you *cannot* put mods on the Xbox version.

This was the first Elder Scrolls title developed under Todd Howard (though he and his team made Redguard first) so it's not surprising that the game is so different from the first two. In fact one could almost say there are two eras of Elder Scrolls games due to the differences in graphics, gameplay, and century (since the first two games were made in the '90s).
