@hurenbock5000 Portland seems to be a bit of an exception to that. A friend of mine tells me that it's pretty bike friendly. But I have never been to Portland, so I don't know.

All cities these days are built for cars, not for humans.

The ppl who drive in SF are usually out of towners who commute from places like Oakland, San rafael and San jose. Every one else rides public transportation.

I lived there for nearly a decade and never met a san franciscan who liked downtown. Too many bums, yuppies, and packed with tourists buying tacky overpriced souvenirs on the weekends. One thing I've noticed about west coast people overall whether they live in Seattle or SF, is that in contrast with east coast ppl they are far less rude.
