I beg to disagree. The environment is key to sustained development. We can ignore it at our own peril. Yes, Ethiopia cannot afford strict environmental guidelines of the kind they have in the west. But doing nothing is disastrous. The level of deforestation in Ethiopia is alarming. Air & water pollution are increasing. While Im pleased with the pace of development in my country, I can't help but worry its impact on the environment if let unchecked.

I was in ethiopia and the people are not mindful of the environment. They for example burn the garbage and dont know any better

Development comes from political stability not from command economics. This is a plan to fill the capital, which is located in the oromo region, with habashi tribesmen loyal to the ruling junta. It is ethnic cleansing disguised as urban development. The future lies with democracy and common sense. End all hostilities. Leave Ogadenia and Badme. Give the Oromo their share of power. Stop meddling with Somali affairs. Otherwise it will be the same as it was for the last 500 years.
