Watch Part 1 first!!

Second part in a four part series. By the end of this video you will have learned how to convert all of your karaoke CDG discs to a file format playable with computer software programs such as Virtual DJ and others. This video beginning with the first one gets you to the point where you have converted the discs to CD+G files, a dual format (video & audio are separate) file that is very common and familiar to many computer KJs. You may be happy with this format and have no need to go to the next step. The third video demonstrates how to compress these CD+G dual files encoded into a single .zip file fully playable in Virtual DJ because VDJ has a built in zip compression engine that decodes on the fly!!. This is much simpler because your audio & video dual files will be in one easily manageable zip file and save you some space as an added bonus!!.

Stay tuned for Part 3 coming soon!!

  • @MrRooney35 Sorry for the late reply, did you ever figure it out?

  • Hello Dj Rude.

This is "dj wïshow" . First of all I want to say Thank You for all your videos, they have been really helpful.

Now, I am setting my dj & karaoke system and, I am buying the (Power Cdg Burner software) so i can organize all my files in my desk-top.

My question is,since i'm using a desk-top. Can i download the Cdg burner software to a external hard-drive?...Because i need this software for this weekend only and i'm also willing to buy a lap-top in the future.

  • @1oochiva Thanks for the kind words! Yes, you can put the software on an external drive.

  • What'z good Rob!! Thanks for the comments. Transfers shamsfers! lol.. No ripper on VDJ but it has so many other features who needs it?

VDJ made the engine that runs PCDJ, which is basically a slimmed down version of VDJ. You need to get the demo of version 6.0.1 and give it a try.

Try following the steps that outlined on these vids to get good clean high quality rips.

    Thanks for the comments

    DJ RuDe (Paul)

  • With the power cdg burner can I also back up karaoke tracks that are on dvd's??

  • @RudeDog66 Apreciated man!... thanks.

  • Hi , exc vid. How do you exp all of this to create a song book? Also , how do you get the song s to map correctly to artist and title?

I have PCDJ VJ and having a tuff time getting rip files to map correctly in the PCDJ VJ prog. I am using Pow Karaoke prod CDG Burner and also Song File Proces and Song Book Creator and I am spending hrs and hrs trying to get them all to work and map correctly. It is getting very frustrating.

Would appreciate any advise or tricks that you use.

    Thanks

  • where do you get the software?

  • "and its caaaalled CDG transfers" 8-) :)

Doesn't VDJ come with a ripper?

Mine did but I can't seem to get it to work properly (any tips?) so i just stick with the PCDJ ripper that has the option (check box) for create CDG.
