In this demo with Jonathan Ross, Software Architect, Microsoft:
Bringing parallel programming to mainstream software developers is one of the main goals of Intels Tera-scale research program. Microsoft Visual Studio is a widely popular software development environment that can also be used for developing parallel applications to run on the SCC many-core platform.
Visual Studio 2008 is demonstrated working together with Intels research SCC message passing environment.
This allows programmers to directly take advantage of the cloud-like message passing architecture of SCC.
Proves how easy it is for a programmer to setup a project, edit, compile and run applications that take advantage of the unique features of the experimental SCC.
This podcast is from the live webcast at the Clift Hotel in San Francisco on December 2, 2009. This demo followed Intel CTO, Justin Rattners opening remarks on the Single-Chip Cloud Computer, the latest Intel Labs milestone in the Intel Tera-scale Computing Research Program.
MPI is still MPI, no matter if it's one core or multiple computers connected with network. It's still hard to debug and hard to write

They should have made laws to prevent CPU companies from purchasing other graphics companies! Don't you think that an AMD grahpics card would suck on an Intel motherboard? Of course they will optimize it for their boards so you can buy those instead.......AMD aquiring ATI was the worse thing that ever happened. ATI cards are now biased but NVIDIA aren't as along as they remain a stand alone company. AMD can't meet up with Intel and discuss how to design a card that will work great with them!

Interesting, though when 12 cores are used the ones displayed at the bottom of the grid don't get very much work (3:28) and improving this would have given a faster frame rate, I image.
