Crossing the old Route 66 bridge over the Mississippi from Illinois to Missouri. This bridge is now part of the St. Louis Riverfront Trail. Back when it handled cars, it was one-way and they had to take turns.
does anyone no that in 1991 2 girls where raped and thrown of that bridge 1 was excuted in 2005 one got death penalty and is on death row awaiting another trail one got life after first sentance was cuimmened and one got 15 years and got relased last year.
Wow there's a modern bridge less than a mile away. This bridge was set for demolition but it was saved for bicycle/pedestrian use by using the tax money instead of supporting corrupt politicians.
Wow when is the United States going to use the tax money to fix all the deteriorating bridges throughout America and save lives; rather than using it to support corrupt politicians?
The bridge was not one-way.

This is the Chain of Rocks Bridge, which opened in 1929. I'm glad they saved this.

The bridge always carried two lanes of traffic, but large trucks had a hell of a time negotiating the bend in the middle with oncoming traffic.
