IKR I was thinking the same thing

1st off, the Order of the Eastern Star consists of both men and women. Granted, there are usually more women than men. 2nd, the Bible is an ordinary King James Bible, albeit printed especially for the OES,with illustrations of the five Biblical women who are honored by the OES as representing character traits we should all emulate in our lives. The name reflects the fact that when created, masonry had only Christians. The Eastern Star referenced is the Christmas star the wise men followed.

@EEE89 Right? What's that all about???

the ritual book is not a bible
-
@utukkuxul Nice language, now you should probably read up on it!
-
@utukkuxul Yes it is a king james version but also masonic which is different to a normal bible
-
I'm not sure what you are trying to illustrate with this video, other than "Look! I have no idea what I'm talking about!"
-
"scumbag Esther?" what type of Christian...?

Where is there evidence of Charles T Russell using the OES Lodge for bible study? It's probably not a huge deal as he needed a meeting place for his studies. After all, Freemasons, and those Orders were so popular in his day that practically everyone was one. Except him, I wrote a lodge and researched it all.

@utukkuxul I think the best way to explain it is that 'Jehovah' is the best translation for English. People speaking other languages have their translation of his name which of course would be different. I think the important thing is that we pray to our Father by using his name, as Jesus gave the model prayer in Matt 6:9,10. Let your name be sanctified. Would you have time to show me why Jehovah would not be proper to use in your opinion? Do you use Yahweh? Jehovah is in the KJV Psalm 83:18etc.
dude its not a bible dumass!!!!

boy, would I love to get my hands on a copy of that bible.
also on my wish list is the 1950 edition of the nwt with the part about the name jehovah coming from that monk raymundus marti or something like that, and that they chose to keep it the same because it is widely accepted as his name. I'd plunk that sucker right in front of the next JW who told me that Jehovah is the holy name.

I think they mention that in other pubs too.
I've had debates with them before about it, and their excuse is "Jehovah is his name in English." You can show them all the documentation you want but they will just keep repeating that over and over. I know.
