If i was a singer i wouldnt feel the need to sing like a rastafarian to enhance or add weight to my musical persona; neither would i go around talking with an american accent, I'm English. That behaviour to me seems to suggest an insecurity, or lack of identity.
Each culture is rich, with its own heritage and characteristics that has as much to offer as any other. Just because some characteristics of specific cultures have become iconic amongst popular culture as 'cool', doesnt mean they have any more validity or truth, or even enhance a persons identity that one should adopt them....
