Ralph Evans, a prize winner in the 1982 VII International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow, performs the Tchaikovsky violin concerto during the finals on July 4, 1982, with the State Orchestra of the USSR conducted by Pavel Kogan. Evans has been first violinist of the Fine Arts Quartet since December 1982.

Thank you for posting this! I had never seen it. Elegant playing from an elegant man. I can certainly see the Heiftez influence - his idol.

This is VERY nice, Mr. Evans. You have such a convincing approach to this concerto and I wish I could hear more performances of this work that are as interesting as yours.
