"Tara Prayer" is taken from the album "Zamling Shide" (IRMA 508626-2 - 2002) available on www.msol.biz

The United Peace Voices project was born several years ago from a meeting between Tibetan Lama Gangchen Rimpoche and legendary Beat poet Allen Ginsberg, recently passed away. It was Ginsberg, following a long conversation with the Lama about his doctrine based upon declamation of musical mantras, as part of the Buddhist practice known as self-healing, who advised him to form a group of singers for travelling around the World to divulge his teachings. The Lama Gangchen's centre of culture and teaching is based in Milan and from there he constantly travels around the World for his peace missions and benefits in order to help the poorest populations of the globe. During his journeys Lama Gangchen is often followed by the United Peace Voices group, who have been performing at events of various kinds, including one inside the United Nations building in New York. On their first album for Irma Records, titled "Zamling Shide" (Tibetan for "Peace In The World"), female voices in English or Tibetan alternate with the Tibetan Lama's delivery of mantras or prayers for devotion and peace. The production is care of some of the best names from the IRMA team. The result is a peculiar mixture of Asian melodies and electronic arrangements, ranging from the Asian Lounge sound to Breakbeat, from Electrobossa to Technodub. The album is IRMA records little contribution to help solving the critical international situation we are currently living in. The whole project is tied to the association Help In Action, which takes care of long-distance adoptions and fund raising for the Tibetan and Nepalese people.
