Scary llama...scary snow!

Our 4 llamas got scared of the avalanche of snow that fell off the roof of the barn into their paddock.

Indeed, you are correct, they are native to South America... from the Altiplano region where they are actually accustomed to being in elevations as high as 15,000 feet (we are only at 1000 feet). Vegetation there is sparse and it gets much colder. Snow is not bad for them, in fact, they evolved such nice, soft, and wonderful fiber that keeps them so warm they could care less if they have snow or frost on their backs. Though they do prefer some form of shelter.
