are those usually located right there? i got an mitsubishi outlander and the airbag light is always on so i plugged the scanner(obd2) into my computer and it said airbag pretensioner not grounded or something like that, is it a hard fix? i got all the tools u can imagine, i take advantage of my schools auto program

They are only located on the buckle side on some cars, like this Cadillac. However, on the Mitsubishi Outlander, I believe that they are located on the seat belt reel/retractor side. The cannot be fixed. If the vehicle has been in a crash and the airbags went off, they need to be replaced. I'm not a mechanic, so I can't say for sure what's wrong with your car. It could be an electrical problem, but it sounds like the seat belt assemble may need to be replaced. I hope that helps a little.

When you get in a crash, right before the airbags deploy, they go off and tighten the seat belt around you so there's no slack in the belt when you move forward into the airbag. They take about 3-5 inches of slack out of the seat belt when they go off.
