Liberal filmmaker Michael Moore slams the Democratic party for focusing too much attention on the demands of older, white male voters and too little attention on 18-to-29 year-olds, a critical demographic for Obama in the 2008 election. "Young people didn't come out in 2010," says Moore, "because they don't take bullshit. You promise them something, you'd better do it."

Here Comes Trouble: Stories from My Life is an unflinchingly honest, take-no-prisoners ride through the life of Oscar-winning filmmaker and bestselling author Michael Moore. Moore shares far-ranging, irreverent, and stranger-than-fiction vignettes from his early life. One moment he's an 11-year-old boy lost in the Senate and found by Bobby Kennedy; and in the next, he's inside the Bitburg cemetery with Ronald Reagan. At 17, he goes to get a snack and ends up on the news, creating a firestorm that helps eliminate racial discrimination at private establishments across America. Funny, eye-opening, and moving, it's the book he has been writing and living his entire life. - Sixth & I Historic Synagogue

Michael Moore is an Academy Award-winning American filmmaker, author and liberal political commentator. He is the director and producer of Bowling for Columbine, Fahrenheit 9/11, and Sicko, three of the top five highest-grossing documentaries of all time. In September 2008, he released his first free movie on the Internet, Slacker Uprising, documenting his personal crusade to encourage more Americans to vote in presidential elections. He has also written and starred in the TV shows "TV Nation" and "The Awful Truth." Moore is a self-described liberal who has criticized globalization, large corporations, assault weapon ownership, the Iraq War, U.S. President George W. Bush and the American health care system in his written and cinematic works. In 2005, Time magazine named him one of the world's 100 most influential people.

  • @ogrish84 Selfless? HAHA, answer this: Is Michael Moore sleeping out in tents tonight or in his multi-million dollar home? Is Michael Moore trying to make this movement into a capitalistic opportunity that will make him millions via a film or book? Is Michael Moore letting actual protesters speak or is he doing a press tour talking about the 99% while conveniently promoting his book? Selfless? You're making me laugh.

  • @StyrofoamKup No, they are just young and ignorant. I use to be one(still am in some cases, I am 24) but when I started working and having responsibilities I find out why people hate democrats. Really, if progressives are really that then they will raise the voting age to 24 or 25 to keep up with the times. In the past at 18 people had jobs then and own property, paid taxes. Now so many go to college they don't start working until later making then ignorant on certain issues.

  • @whyamimrpink78 So according to yourself young people are a bunch of idiots or bums aren't they.

  • The main reason why the older don't vote for the democrats and the younger do is that the young don't know any better. They don't have jobs or have to take care a of a house or families or pay taxes. The old see what high taxes and regulations do which is why they are against the democrats. They are wiser and work harder. Also, the young don't know the issues so they don't vote for midterm elections they only vote for the president. History shows that and Moore made that statement.

  • This is why I like Michael Moore even though i'm conservative. He does tell the truth much of the time.

  • Agree 100%. Let's all forget about crazy white guys like Michael Moore.

  • well

  • Eternal, unsustainable, dependency. Sound familiar at all? Global warming? Environmental destruction? BP? Those elections that just never seem to give "the people" what they want?

A civilization cannot forever live with a comfortable delusion. Reality is a cold-hearted bitch, and she never forgives. Well, sometimes she does, but only if you learn soon enough. Do you suppose we will? I'm thinking so, but people every day on here try to prove me wrong.

  • You know what's wrong with that idea? When you make things, you need resources to make them. That takes time and effort. If you just give that stuff away, you have less time to improve your methods of making stuff. Making a profit means you can improve your items, make even more profit, and be able to provide even more value to people who are like-minded traders. Socialism is the idea that you don't teach a man to fish, you just keep giving him Your fish: eternal, unsustainable... dependency.

  • So let me introduce you to some reality, Elise: you're defending an ideology that spells the death of millions if it's realized (which it is): socialism.

The belief that people owe you stuff just because they're alive is slavery, and that's the basis of communism and socialism. You're part of the tribe, so you'd better do your part. If you don't "contribute" (i.e. Give stuff to people because they want it without expecting anything back), then you're an evil capitalist.

  • Death threats? Seriously? You know what was the crowning Jewel of VenomFangX's follows? Yeah: that he received death threats. If you're going to go on the big stage and use your full legal name and do controversial stuff in public, you're going to get death threats. I'm sorry, pumpkin, but that's the way the world is: we're nuts.
