@dynamikausa Unfortunately, bullets don't just "bounce" off all water and fly a few miles and kill a random person. This can be true for some instances, but what is usually negated is that, more accurately, bullets "skim" off the surface of water like a skipped rock. At the angle the author is shooting, there is very little chance of such a ricochet. But then again, if you've never discharged a firearm into water, you wouldn't know the outcome.

lead gets into water naturally too people, the oceans are full of heavy metals that have been dragged in by wave action. this tiny slug while still technically lead, makes little or no difference. the navy tests its crews by firing into the oceans...
