Last Armageddon - opening

I got into Last Armageddon a few years back while I was still exploring the PC-8801 library. The visuals + superb music of the opening movie caught my attention and from there on I was hooked on this game. Obviously it was the violence in the beginning of the movie that intrigued me, minotaur being blown to pieces w/ his entrails going off in all directions, I mean cool. The question that came to mind was, Who are these guys? and What is this game about? Dammit, I should have taken japanese in college b/c I'm in the dark about the details of the story. All I can tell is the story takes place in a post-apocalyptic future where humans are no more and demons are the locals on earth. Problem is aliens/machines have invaded earth and they're bent on total takeover. The demons are outnumbered but don't plan on surrendering, so they go on the offensive and take the fight to them instead.

What do you mean with that? Made simpler?

As for units, well I meant the various demons, I got the impression some aren't available in the MSX version.

I mean the in-game menu system of the MSX2 has all the options in one place. Whereas in the PC-8801, some of its options like to fly, save/load, party order...are separate from the main menu, and accessible through their own specific key press.

Do you know anything about there being different characters/demons available for the different versions?

Afaik the PC-8801, MSX2, and FM-Towns have the same available characters. The graphics in the FM-Towns is much more polished. Not so sure about the PC-Engine, I only played it for brief time.

今までやったＲＰＧの中で、一番シナリオの凄かった作品だよ。

映画の「2001年宇宙の旅」と同じ、作品と自己の一体感を味わ­った。

ゲームとしてはバランスとかイマイチだったけど、シナリオは凄い­。
