A gentle version of the Buzzcocks classic. A good song should work in any style! I hope.

  • well I was just browsing vids to learn this from and had to sign in and comment once I'd heard the first few lines. Dude, this is awesome. It has a feel reminiscent of that tears for fears song (mad world) in the donny darko sound track. I can see, or hear, this arrangement quite at home in the right movie. the mad world reference is the change in pace, mood and feel of the song. The changes still work but for different way, more mood and less anger I guess. Good stuff, mate. a refined video?

Thanks for your kind comments, it always gets a lot of attention at live shows, eventually I'll get round to re-filming a more polished version, I just don;t have much spare time at the moment.

  • Beautiful version! Really touching. I love the Buzzcocks' version but also, when you sing it like this, it's almost a completely different song. You really make it your own! I will email this to my friends. Class A1 job :)

  • Thanks very much, it's a great song, simple but effective. I'd only just finished my arrangement when I recorded this. I may have to re do it now without all the fumbles!

  • David - last month I wanted to take Harmony In My Head and slow it down my way, but it just didn't work. Then I found your take on this song and loved it. I have to admit I have plagiarized your version of this and added it to my bag of songs. I guess imitation is the best compliment...Thanx.

  • Thanks Jon, I think it's the mark of a great song when it still works in a very different style.

  • brilliant picking, such a different style but definitely competes with the original. fantastic

  • awesome I wish i could pick like that.

Just love the feel of this in several ways. It has a true folk essence but also works as a pop song in an urban setting Brilliant 5******* +

  • thats awsome, is there any chance u could post the tabs, chords 4 this?, cheers

  • amazing guitar.....reallytouching

  • Nice guitar pickin! sounds terrific, thank you for sharing

  • This works a trea,t well done. Some of the old New wave works well fingerstyle. This played with conviction - it's more than a gimmick, you obviously love the song.. quite right too

  • <3
