Sled Dogs At Mt. Bachelor, Oregon

The father of Iditarod sledder Rachael Scdoris runs a dog sled ride business at the Mt. Bachelor, Oregon ski resort. The Iditarod was running while I was in Oregon, so presumably, these were the dogs that didn't make the cut! But they were absolutely ready to roll nonetheless. When I returned from the first run of the morning, the passengers for the second were already being loaded up for their ride and their dogs being selected. Every dog on the mountain knew what was going on and all were begging very loudly to be chosen. Finally, the team for that ride was complete, and off they went. Within seconds, the dogs left behind knew that there was no further reason to bellow, and so they fell silent.
