Originally titled "The Yankee Doodle Boy," this song was written by George M. Cohan in 1904. The song quotes from the pre-revolutionary song "Yankee Doodle" (c. 1750). The most well-known performance is by James Cagney in the 1942 film Yankee Doodle Dandy. Performed here on the Theatre Organ by Harry Garland in 2010.
