  • The most beaut small jet ever.

  • Can't believe it, already 50 years old and still looks new!

  • @PivotDQ - It was the Hawk's predecessor...

  • it look an awful lot like a BAE Hawk

  • @johnnyjet33030 That gold pyramid will be the Royal Air Force No. 4 Flying Training School emblem, based at RAF Valley, UK using Gnats until about 1978ish. Pyramid badge came about from it's origins in Egypt in the 20's.

  • I flew in a former Red Arrow Gnat at Ellsworth AFB, South Dakota around 1999. It was based out of Colorado. Small cockpit when compared to a Viper or Eagle.

  • There is one at the airport in my town, owned by my flight instructor!

  • G-mour --was g-nat Arnold Glass's aircraft? I had a Gnat ,the highest surviving serial numbered one, i think xs-110, had a number 20 and a gold pyramid emblem on the tail 'bought at Sothbys, had it totally restored then Hurricane Andrew slammed it in Miami. Last time I heard it was in California still not flying. You Brits good a job on hiding the parts. We traded the damaged aircraft for a Strikemaster.

  • Agree with the above, the title of this filmn is incorrect. Also there are still several Folland Gnats privately owned and flying in the USA.

  • i have had the oppertunity to buy this beautiful aircraft along with a L-29. just an amazing aircraft all around
