Little Martha - The Allman Brothers (Cover)

A song that has always meant a lot to me. The only song Duane ever wrote that was recorded by the ABB. As a youngster I was fortunate enough to see Duane play (With the Allman Brothers Band) at the Boston Common on a Tuesday night in August of 1971. Probably one of the main reasons I am a guitarist today. I borrowed a little of Leo Kottke's arrangement for the intro and again near the end. The rest is Duane's. Open D tuning (D, A, D, G#, A, D).

I recorded a version of this song about two years ago. The original was recorded direct to the video camera. I had a request this week to do a higher resolution recording. This is it.

Nice! My favorite acoustic out of the brothers is Gregg's Come & Go Blues, which I'm not sure if it wasn't written by Hank Williams, Jr., however, there is a clip of it on youtube where he played it during a rehershal session. Although he made an error during the song, it sure is great to listen to. Open G tuning
